In an exclusive interview with IESB, Peter Facinelli about the Twilight phenomenon, working with Eclipse director David Slade and find out his feelings on a two-part Breaking Dawn.
Read IESB’s exclusive interview with Dr. Carlisle Cullen himself, Peter Facinelli, below:
IESB: This Twilight stuff, is really a phenomenon, who would’ve known it was going to be this big. When you signed up for the first one, did you just think it was going to be a small little vampire movie?
Peter Facinelli: I knew there was a fanbase of the books, but, somewhere along the line of finishing the movie and it coming out, that fanbase grew exponentially. But we were just trying to make a good movie for the fans of the books, we had no idea that it would turn into this, but, I am always very grateful for the fan support and love that interaction with them because their energy feeds me.
IESB: David Slade, how was he on set? Every director seems to bring something a little different to the franchise, how different was Slade, considering he knows the vampire genre.

Peter Facinelli recently was quoted by a New York magazine where he talks about the cast’s training routines.
“I’m really excited about Eclipse — we did a lot of training for that movie, like six weeks of fight training,” he told us. “It was funny because it became almost like an in-house competition and everyone was always in the gym or working out. Sometimes we’d work out like three times a day. One time, I was in my apartment and I was going down to do my workout, and the elevator doors opened and Kellan Lutz was [in there] doing push-ups. I was like, ‘Okay, Kellan, you win! You win the competition!’”

There are some great battle sequences.” he also said that he didn’t know anything about “Breaking Dawn,” which will be the Twilight Saga’s 4th installment. He said, “I don’t know. Usually, the fans know before we do.” He expressed how great the “Twilight Saga” fans are. He stated, “The fan base has been so phenomenal. When you go to an event, people have flown in from other countries just to take a picture with you. That is a loyal fan base that you can’t even imagine having. I am thankful for all of them. Check out excerpts from Peter Facinelli’s live chat about which we told you earlier.
On his taste in Music:
Peter: I have such an eclectic taste when it comes to music, so that’s a very difficult question for me. I’ll listen to everything from Eminem to Elvis Presley to The Beatles. Don’t have a favorite band that I listen too — kind of like a little bit of everything. I always sing in the shower. I can play maybe 2 songs on the guitar — Blackbird (Beatles) and La Bamba.
On playing a Vampire :
Peter: I think being a vampire is fun because you get to live forever. As an actor, the coolest thing about playing a vampire is that vampires are cool right now, so it’s fun to play one.
On Fight Scenes in Eclipse :
Peter: The fight scenes prep was tedious but fun. I enjoyed it immensely. Going to work and training, doing fight choreography and working out was fun. We had about 5 weeks to prep, so every day we were working really hard.
It wasn’t like digging ditches, but it was fun to be able to go in and be a part of that. It became very competitive within the cast.

Rumors have been swirling that along with Rob Estes, Jennie Garth is also going to be dropped from the teen drama 90210. EOnline has an article where Jennie mentions her husband, Peter Facinelli.
As for what’s next for Jennie, whose 90210 departure was confirmed last week, Jennie herself tells me that she has “lots of irons in the fire,” including a children’s book, work with the American Heart Association and a new small-screen project with a certain Twilight star with whom she just so happens to be married.
“My husband [Peter Facinelli] is writing a script we’re developing for television,” Jennie tells me.
Who needs that silly ol’ ZIP code after all?
