Peter Facinelli discusses his final parting with the Dr. Carlisle Cullen and his on-screen family
Posted By Tanvi | On Nov 12, 2012 | Filed Under: breaking dawn, Peter Facinelli

As we inch closer and closer to the grand finale – the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2 is mere hours away – Peter Facinelli has given several interviews talking about his bitter-sweet goodbye to the franchise, Carlisle Cullen and his on-screen family.

Quotes from Peter can be read below:

“I’ll be sad to say goodbye to Twilight and my character, but it hasn’t felt like goodbye just yet. It has been more than a year since we finished filming, and we still have the premieres and promotion of this installment to come. The journey is coming to an end, but it’s not quite over yet.”

Peter is unsurprisingly keeping schtum about the scandal (about Robert and Kristen), curtly saying: “I don’t have the guard up when it comes to promoting this film, because it has nothing to do with the film. This movie to me is the same as any other in the franchise.

“Fans are coming to see Edward and Bella, and what goes on in my life, theirs, anybody’s, doesn’t affect the performances that were given or the fans’ perception of the story.”

Peter himself is newly single, having recently split from wife of 11 years, Beverly Hills 90210 star Jennie Garth. “I don’t discuss that aspect of my life, out of respect to my children.”

Breaking Dawn is the most adult of Stephenie Meyer’s series, and sees Bella and Edward getting married and conceiving the aforementioned ‘immortal child’, but will this final instalment be true to the beloved novel? “It’s been more than a year since we finished filming, so it’s hard to remember exactly what went down,” explains Peter.

The final book was split into two films, but shot together out of sequence. “We knew it would be two separate movies, but weren’t sure what would be going where. I haven’t seen it, so I’m excited.

“However, I do know it’s loyal to the books, with a couple of surprises. I love those little golden nuggets — it’s special for me to have those moments of surprise for the fans. The content in this one is a little more mature, but the filming experience was similar, apart from the fact that there are lots of different covens, so a lot of new actors — there’s even an Irish one.”

Carlisle calls in favours from peaceful vampire covens all over the world to help defend his family against the Volturi. “Yeah, we go through his Rolodex of vampire friends. This one is a lot more supernatural than the other films: a lot more greenscreen moments, special effects, and everyone has a special power, which I enjoyed. I’m really looking forward to the fans’ reaction.”

The child the characters are going out on a limb to protect is played by Mackenzie Foy (7). “The kid who plays little Renesmee was fantastic; I was impressed. She’s going to be a huge star.

“Working with younger actors, it can be hard to keep their attention. She had great stamina, and great connections with the other actors. She had to wear contact lenses all the time too, which wasn’t easy for a little girl. She was amazing.”

    ——————–

“Good things kind of have to come to an end at some point,” admitted Facinelli. “I haven’t felt yet the sense of its completion because I am still doing press and I am still talking about it ,and I still get to see cast members at certain events and award shows.

“I think in January I’ll feel like it’s completely over, the final film would have come out, I won’t have to be doing interviews about them any more – and I think that’s when the sadness will kick in.”

Following Bella’s union to Edward Cullen, Facinelli explains that there is a “moment of happiness and then clouds roll in as the Volturi catches wind that this baby has been born – and it’s a big vampire no no to have a vampire child”.

He added: “They come and threaten our family. It’s higher stakes that in the sense that not only is one person’s life been threatened, but our whole family is now being threatened.

“Carlisle’s ideology is being threatened because Carlisle started this kind of cult family where it is anti-establishment. You have these vampires that are nomads, they are very animalistic and Carlisle basically says I’m not going to do that, I’m going to do my own thing over here.

“I think he hopes that one day maybe this idea catches on. and maybe one day you can have vampires and humans living together in harmony. And in this film if the Volturi wipes out his family that whole ideology is also completely wiped out.”

    ——————–

For Facinelli, the time spent on set was all about his family, his on-screen vampire family, the Cullens, that is. “I would have to say [my favorite memory is from] Eclipse, for sure, because we had so much battle sequences out there in the woods,” he tells Hollywood.com (at the SEARS launch of Outdoor Life Branded Sportswear in NYC’s Times Square Oct. 11). “Every day we would get together in the mornings and have stunt training, so it would be kind of like two-three hours. That’s how you really get to know people when it’s early morning. It’s just literally working out together and training together. It really bonded us.”

Facinelli also loved the fact that he got to work outdoors. “Most of the clips were shot out in the woods,” he says. “It was like literally camping for months.”

But now Twilight fans are left with one movie to look forward to as Breaking Dawn – Part 2 drops in theaters next week. “There are some surprises in Breaking Dawn – Part 2 that are a little different from the book,” Facinelli says of the final flick. “I don’t want to spoil them from you, but there are some shocking moments. I think Carlisle is part of one of them.”

Video: Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser promote Breaking Dawn: 2 on ‘Ellen’
Posted By Tanvi | On Nov 6, 2012 | Filed Under: elizabeth reaser, Peter Facinelli

As we told you previously, Peter Facinelli and Elizabeth Reaser appeared on Ellen to promote The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. We now have the video of the two Twilight co-stars (don’t miss out on Peter’s ‘driving the car’ dance move!):

“The first Twilight, everyone was kind of hanging out and we all got to hang out together, go out to dinners, and by the second or third, we couldn’t go out at all. We would just stay in and play games. We actually played Twilight: The Board Game once.” – Peter Facinelli

“Yeah there’s about a hundred vampires dancing on a sound stage in the snow, and basically we secretly went into a room on our breaks, and Bill Condon the director no one knew anything about it. We told the cinematographer, ‘Can you shoot this, we’re going to surprise Bill.’ And it’s the song ‘Sweet Dreams’ . We just went out there and threw down so hard.” – Elizabeth Reaser

Entertainment Weekly discusses Top 10 #Twilight sequels Stephenie Meyer should write
Posted By Tanvi | On Nov 3, 2012 | Filed Under: twilight

While we are mere days away from the grand finale of The Twilight Saga, Entertainment Weekly made a list of Top 10 Twilight sequels Stephenie Meyer could write. Here’s a selection of our favorites:

    9. The rest of the wolves

Who is Embry’s father? Why does Emily stay with Sam, even though he attacked her? (She’s not the one who imprinted, after all). How do Jacob’s and Sam’s packs interact once there’s no more threat from the Volturi?

    8. The continuing saga of Jacob and Renesmee

Even though it’s gross, more Jacob and Nessie means more Edward and Bella. Besides, at the end of Breaking Dawn, Edward hinted that Jacob might have competition for Nessie’s heart in the other half-vampire/half-human hybrid Nahuel. And who can resist another supernatural love triangle?

    7. All About the Humans

Do Mike, Jessica, Ben, Tyler, and Eric survive college?

    6. The Volutri versus the Romanians

When the Cullens scout out other vampires to help stand against the Volturi, we meet the Romanian coven — Stefan and Vladimir — who ruled the vampire world until they were overtaken by the Volturi. We’d love to see what went down in that coup.

    4. Charlie and Sue

How is the vampire’s father faring in his relationship with the werewolves’ mother?

    3. Carlisle’s time with The Volturi

Before creating Edward and the rest of his family, Carlisle spent time with The Volturi. What was it like for him? And what happened when he ultimately left?
